Instant Millet Idli Mix Cooking Instructions

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Nutri'n Rich instant millet idli mix
  • 1.25 cups water
  • Oil or ghee for greasing
  • Salt to taste (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of Nutri'n Rich instant millet idli mix with 1.25 cups of water. Mix well until a smooth batter forms. If desired, you can add salt to taste.
  2. Cover the bowl and let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes at room temperature. This allows the flavors to meld and the batter to ferment slightly, resulting in softer idlis.
  3. While the batter is resting, prepare your steamer by greasing the idli moulds with oil or ghee to prevent sticking.
  4. After resting, pour the batter into the greased idli moulds, filling each mould about 3/4 full.
  5. Steam the idlis in the steamer for 15-20 minutes or until they are cooked through. You can check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of an idli – if it comes out clean, they are ready.
  6. Once cooked, remove the idli moulds from the steamer and let them cool for a few minutes before unmoulding.
  7. Serve the hot, tasty, and nutritious idlis with sambar and chutney for a complete meal.
